Has Mittlewerk reached the Island?
Theory in brief:The voice heard on the satellite phone was Thomas Mittlewerk, the ship Naomi refers to is the Helgus Antonius, the Losties (or the Others or both) are the victims of the Spider Protocol, and outside the island it is July 2006.
Caveats:
1. This theory assumes that time moves slower on the island then outside which has been talked about ad nausea so I won't go into it too much here. The producers have come right out to say that the concept of time on the island is not what we think. So let’s just take it from here and say, “If time moves slower on the island than off, then what could be possible?”
2. I'm sure someone out there has put this out already, but I'm just thinking about it now so bare with me while I work it out.
3. This theory also discusses the convergence of the show with the Lost Experience and Bad Twin. People don't always agree as to whether it would be cool to connect them. However, the producers have said that the Lost Experience is cannon, so that being said...
***********************************************************************
Paik and Mittlewerk:
We know from The Lost Experience that Paik Heavy Industries made the specialty ship, the Helgus Antonius, with it's quarantine quarters for victims of the Sri Lanka experiments, & special docking needs for the Hanso Foundation. It was being used by Mittlewerk to follow the route of Magnus Hanso's Black Rock. It left secretly from Italy on 7/6/06. It stopped in Sri Lanka to assemble and train a crew. This is where Rachel Blake filmed the screening of the main Dharma orientation video.[LE] Perhaps this ship is being used by Mittlewerk and the Hanso Foundation to find the island.
Widmore and Mittlewerk:
We know from Bad Twin that Widmore has bee doing business with Paik and Hanso and that they’ve been involved in illegal off shore activities of questionable ethics. The Book talks about how Mittlewerk took over The Hanso Corp and even though they don’t care for him, the Widmores continue to work with the company. We know from the show that Penny is bent on using all her resources to find Desmond and has (via Charlie). She doesn’t know Naomi and the people on the boat, but they know her. Perhaps her father set them up (Desmond to crash on the island and Penny to find the island without getting lost) and Penny is unwittingly helping Widmore, and subsequently Mittlewerk to find the island.
The Knowledge Issue:
These companies, The Hanso Foundation, at least, were involved with the Dharma Initiative and therefore should know where the island is (or had known at one time.) Why do they need help now?
-Maybe that’s why Alvar Hanso was in captivity? Perhaps he won’t give up the whereabouts.
-Also, we know from the Sri Lanka video that the Hanso Foundation and Mittlewerk are aware that “the Dharma Initiative has failed”. Does this mean that they know of the purge or do they just believe that the DI just hasn’t yet fulfilled the objectives? Perhaps Ben’s group kept up the ruse that the Dharma Initiative was still operational but, due to them working on their own agendas (keeping women from dying while pregnant) the original DI objectives have not been worked on. This would explain the continued palate drop and The Others’ ability to travel the world recruiting people (under the guise of recruiting them for DI via DI’s front company, Mittelos Bioscience).
-Perhaps they knew where the island was until Desmond’s System Failure masked the island from view. Perhaps Charles Widmore originally sent Desmond there simply to get rid of him.
The Time Issue:
Perhaps the island was going along in regular time until the system failure slowed it down. This would explain how it was September 22, 2004 when the plane went down and Ben could show Juliet the newspaper date and her 3 year old nephew.

The Lost Island Map Blog
Great new site featured on Lostcasts this week.
It was created by LostySmurf to house her/his map project

Roger's Map

I updated the Lost Map Project to include Roger's map that Sawyer found in the VW Bus. It appears to, at least in my opinion, that it may support the idea that the blast door map was a literal map.

Easter Egg in the Tatoo Parlor?

I was watching this weeks episode again today and thought I'd look around for some easter eggs. I figured that if Achara was connected to the Others in some way, or if there's some greater connection between Jack's tatoos and Juliet's branding, then we might find clues in the tatoo parlor. I found this one picture particularly interresting. It seems quite similar to Juliet's, in my opinion. I put the two together for comparison here:

Desmond at the Event Horizon

WOW...amazing ep.
It seems clear to me now what the hatch was really for...I think.
The hatch was for making micro black holes like the Large Hadron Collider http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Large_Hadron_Collider. The screen cap above from Room 23 shows a cylinder (possibly representing the particle accelerator) and the cd's (representing the black holes.) The hatch computer regulated the mbh's ability to become stable. When the regulator was destroyed the mbh's became stable and swallowed up the hatch. They would've swallowed up the island and the whole world if not for the fail safe which was the final regulatory element and destroyed the particle accelerator in the process.
With an implosion, an object seemingly disappearing into itself forming a black hole, we can then see the circular belt around the object where time and space are bending. See the latest issue of National Geographic for a great artistic vision of this. If something existing on the object being imploded is blown outward instead of inward, wouldn't it shoot to the event horizon and exist within the hole's circular belt?
If the hatch imploded into the black hole it created and all the people were blown out from the center, maybe Desmond made it to the event horizon and existed in the belt where time and space is bent around it. Because none can pass an event horizon, Desmond was bounced back to the center.
So Desmond experienced a bend in time...what???
Is it possible that when Desmond visited this place he existed in the present, the future and in the past at the same time? This might explain why he went back in time as his present self and not see his past self (no doppelganger.) Another thing is that we only saw his experience with the past in his flashback but maybe he also had a future experience he doesn't quite remember or the future was imbedded in the past since they were happening at the same time. This would explain Charlie's prominance in Desmond's past or the weird woman who really looks like she could be an elder Penny.
I'm grasping at straws, obviously and don't totally get it...it is science fiction after all.
Anyway, does any of this make any sense or am I missing it completely? Don't answer that. Help! Is there a physicist out there?!

The Othersville Map Project
http://jamieandalyce.com/Lost/map_project_pg1.html
I finally got the map project back up. Here's the link. I still think it's relevant for the same reasons I had for making it. The blastdoor map, although blasted to hell, is still relevant. I don't believe that the Hydra Station has proved it obsolete due to the fact that Danielle's maps clearly show an island archipelago just north of where Sayid marked the ferry.
Plus, here's the link to the Lostcasts Episode that plugs the map project (I'm so proud of it...they even said my name on the air...ok ok it was months ago, but it's my 15 minutes of fame and I'll cherish it always, lol)

Room 23

I started an analysis page of the Clockwork Orange Room - Room 23.
It's a work in progress.

Not in Portland: Some Thoughts
The more I think about this ep the more I like it. I voted 8 for it on the Fuselage...a good strong 8.
I really felt a connection to the characters in a way I haven't felt so far this season. It seemed to give more depth to the Others, and to Jack. For the first time I actually respected him. For me that's allot as he usually makes me kind of nauseous. Jack and Juliet are so very similar and understanding her through her back story brought more of an understanding of Jacks character. Both are reluctant heroes, both basket cases who react out of fear, both are too smart to be wise, both held captive by their responsibilities, both living under the thumb of an emotionally abusive dominant male. I think Juliet is my new favorite character. Watching her back story was like getting involved in a whole nother show. She's a woman on the edge, no wonder she's so trigger happy.
Lets not to forget all the island mystery and the industry intrigue I love about this show. Wow! It had everything. Widmore, Dharma, Mittelos (perhaps a connection to the Hanso Foundation and Thomas Mittlework there.) I wonder if the medical labs Juliet was working for were connected to the Widmore Corp. The pregnancy tests her sister uses are well known products of theirs. The writers seemed to intentionally keep the medical lab generic.
And that Clockwork Orange Room... Wow! I have to figure out how to get screen shots so I can analize those. There's definately something about the "everything changes" section that intrigues me... like the one with the protractor...the same kind that Danielle uses with her maps of the island. Are we being told that the island changes, perhaps totgraphically? hmmm

Kermit on Lost

Hurray!!!!
Lost is back and kickin' ass. Thought I'd start a blog of my own to house thoughts and theories and silly stuff.
Let's start off with an in depth look at poor Carl's Clockwork Orange ordeal. Did anyone notice Kermit the Frog? Maybe there's a rainbow connection...ok that was dumb...but still...doesn't it look like him among the masks?
